[etchells-fleet11-members] Racing Tomorrow

Please, please do not have an open keg on the pad. The Chicago Park district
has a very strict code about open alcohol in the park and the Lincoln Park
Advisory Council hears complaints from citizens all the time (Vickie
Matthews is the current President and I am the current Treasurer.)
I recommend having the keg on the dock where drinking on boats often
overflows to the dock and is generally accepted. We can use Otter as a base,
if you want. This might be better than in the Sailing Activities building as
the party can begin as we pull boats rather than waiting for all the boats
to be pulled and having many people leave.
I was in the grocery when I saw Mike's email and bought some after race
munchies to share, either on the dock or in the Sailing Activities building.
Thanks,
Betsy

Subject: [etchells-fleet11-members] Racing Tomorrow
Last races of the year are tomorrow. Unfortunately, the Club will be closed
after racing per the note below.
I don't actually recall ever having a keg on the pad by the cranes (I do
recall getting a ticket from CPD for a beer near Montrose). So do we want
to try something like this, maybe just take a run to the Hopleaf or
something. Let me know tomorrow AM?
"Be advised that Belmont Station will be closed at 2:00 pm Saturday,
September 27 for Kristian Matinciac's wedding. Kristian is a member of the
Shields Fleet and should know better than to get married during a race day,
but he's a good guy so we'll support him anyway. The ceremony will take
place on the patio at 4:30. Please respect this august occasion by
refraining from traversing the patio during the ceremony. The dining room
will be closed, however sail lockers and the Men's locker room will be
accessible. The Women's locker room will be accessible from the outdoor
staircase only. John Cummings is dong his best to reduce the impact of this
event on the sailors. In the past, the Etchells fleet has purchased a keg of
beer and has held a party in the pen by the cranes. John has offered to
reduce the price for a keg from $350 to $200, but doesn't have a bartender
to spare. If your fleet wishes to purchase a keg of beer, please contact
John immediately."
