See below for a forwarded message regarding the 2009 NA's in Toronto.  Not
mentioned is that this is really your only north american opportunity to
sail at a 'Royal' YC.
I believe the Great Lakes Championship is scheduled for the preceding
weekend in Rochester NY, so this is a good opportunity to some late season
regattas with only one big drive.

 Fleet Captains,





The 2009 sailing season is upon us with lots of activity in Florida
currently going on! As we get ready to start the 2009 season in Toronto a
lot of effort is focused on the 2009 Etchells North Americans!!  Planning
has begun. The Royal Canadian YC and the Canadian Etchells Fleet are looking
forward to hosting what looks to be one of the Class’ major events in North
America this year! Tony Anderson, our Regatta Chair and his committee are
actively pulling together all the details to ensure we have a well run event
providing good sailing, good shoreside activities and of course the great
competition for which  the class is known!



We have received good initial sponsorship support with Steam Whistle Brewery
and Holiday Inn Express contributing to the event. The title sponsor
position is still open and we hope to have this position and other
sponsorships confirmed over the next couple of months.



The fleet will be posting information on the fleet website, which can be
found at – http://etchells2009nas.com/index.html



A copy of a poster promoting the event is attached which outlines the events
and activities for the North Americans. We are pleased to announce that
Holiday Inn Express has kindly offered the Etchells fleet an event rate and
has blocked off a number of rooms for the event. Please see the details
below and act quickly as the rooms will go fast!!



We will be providing updates as they become available and please check the
website periodically for more news. The next update will be the NOR and we
will have an email out to the fleet when this is posted on the website. In
the meantime, should there be any questions do not hesitate to contact Greg
or myself, our contact details are on the attachment!!









*Details on Hotel Accommodation Details:*



September 14th thru 20th

Hotel Accommodations “A block of 40 rooms (mix of doubles and Queen Rooms
with pullouts) has been put aside at the *“Holiday Inn Express” *Toronto
downtown 111 Lombard Street:

The block of forty *rooms will be held until April 30th/09*, after which
time the remaining rooms will be released.

The RATE is *$150.00 per night*, up to a maximum of 4 people per room.
Includes Hot Express Breakfast

All Rooms must be booked directly with the Hotel, either by calling
*416-367-5555
or E-mailing whg4104 at whg.com*  when requesting a Rate you must ask for
 *“ETCHELL’s”
only then will you receive the $150.00*

It is important to note that these Regatta dates also so coincide with the
Toronto International Film Festival, and the downtown core of city Hotels
will be booked solid, so book early...
