Most of you have probably seen this, but see below about the speaker series
at CYC.

In other news. Several boats are back from Miami, which must (I hope) mean
that spring is around the corner. I'm targeting sometime mid-April for our
spring meeting, with date TBD shortly.

Finally, I've heard this morning that, Chris Lefferdink is now the proud
owner of US-1171. Congrats.

A small contingent from the US Olympic Sailing Team will be visiting Chicago
next week and you are invited to spend some time with them. Join us at
Belmont on Saturday evening for plenty of Mt. Gay Rum & food and to hear
what it was really like to be at the Olympic Games in China. Hear what it
takes to become an Olympian and to share the rewards for success.

I have been very impressed with these three individuals and with their
dedication to sailing and to the Olympics. I know all three of them and am
excited that we can have them in Chicago. We can also talk about the bid
for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Chicago and what it means for
us, if the bid is selected. Details of the evening below:

It’s best to make a reservation if you want to have a good seat, but I think
we can fit in a lot of people, so plan to show up. It’s a good excuse to
see your sailing pals in the dead of winter
