Hey all,

1.        The wind also tends to be better later in the season and

2.       it might increase participation on non-trophy weekends if we have this regatta later.  It seems like regular series racing should have better participation and this would be a good way to make sure we most possible people out there.

On another note, does anyone have thoughts about how to get people who are not sailing their boats but have them on the pad to come out to race more?  Most weekends this year we only had 10 or so boats and last count there were 24 on the pad.

All,

Why are we not on the same weekend that we are always on? August 7-8, second weekend of the month, one week before the offshore and ahead of the Junior Verve?

We went out to watch the air and water show this year. They have moved most of the plane action right along the shoreline so I doubt it would be like years long past when you couldn't think the planes were so noisy.

Do we have an opinion on this?  By we, I me someone other than me, because it doesn't really matter to me.  I believe 8/14-15 is the week before Offshore Verve but the Air and Water Show is scaring some folks off from that date.

Fleet Captains,

Proposed dates for the 2010 Verve Cup Inshore Regatta are August 14-15, during the Air & Water Show, or August 28-29. The 2010 Laser Nationals will be held in Milwaukee August 12-15. The J24 Worlds will be held in Malmö, Sweden August 13-20.  The fledgling Melges 20 Nationals will be held on Lake Geneva August 27-29.   I am not aware of any other championship regattas that might conflict with the Verve.

Please consult your fleet members and reply with the date that your fleet prefers.
