All,

While wearing my OD Chair hat, I am trying to get NOR and SI out for the
2010 season.  I'd like to through a couple of items out for discussion.

1) In previous years we have had a rule allowing each boat to exceed crew
weight limits once per series if they inform the Fleet Captain beforehand
(in writing no less).  I'd like to advocate for removing this rule.  It
strikes me as unnecessarily officious for club racing.  We don't otherwise
have weigh in's anyway.  Rights are reserved to protest egregious offenders,
but do we really care if a boat is overweight a couple of times?  (I'm aware
that this may be a somewhat self serving position on my part, but do we
really need this?)

2) The Lipton Cup has been competed for over the Independence Day series in
years past, but in both 2009 and 2010 we will not be sailing on that
weekend.  I believe we can sail for the LC in 2010 though.  Two options that
look good are the weekend immediately after Mac, and the last weekend of the
year. Any opinions one way or the other on that point?
